Please include your iPhone model, iOS version and the App version (at the bottom of Settings). Please don’t send recordings or transcripts unless you’re sure they can be shared.
Recording and transcription
Does transcription need the internet?
No. Before the first transcription, iOS downloads the speech model from Apple once (this needs the internet; nothing is uploaded). After that it works in airplane mode.
Which languages are supported?
Mandarin, including Mandarin mixed with English words. The App’s interface is currently in Simplified Chinese.
How long does it take? Can I lock my phone?
It depends on your iPhone and the length of the recording; the transcription card shows an estimate. You can lock the phone or switch apps — iOS shows the progress and you get a notification when it’s done. If the phone gets hot, transcription pauses and resumes once it cools down.
The speakers are wrong. What can I do?
Tap the speaker name in front of a paragraph to rename it. Long-press a sentence and choose to give that paragraph to someone else, or merge two speakers in the speaker list. Setting the number of speakers before transcribing usually helps.
Names and technical terms keep coming out wrong.
Add them to Settings → My Vocabulary (我的词表). After transcription, words that sound the same are corrected (dotted underline; long-press to undo). For recordings already transcribed, choose “Re-correct with vocabulary” in the ··· menu.
What happens if a call comes in while recording?
Recording pauses and resumes when the call ends; nothing already recorded is lost. Even if iOS closes the App, the recorded part is recovered the next time you open it.
New phone and backups
How do I move my recordings to a new iPhone?
The most complete way is iPhone migration or a full backup (iCloud or computer). You can also use Settings → Export All on the old phone, save the folder to Files or a computer, then Settings → Restore from Backup on the new phone. Recordings already there aren’t duplicated.
Can I get a deleted recording back?
Deleted recordings stay in Settings → Recently Deleted for 30 days. Right after deleting, the home screen also offers Undo.
Purchase
What does the purchase include? Does it renew?
It’s a one-time purchase and never renews. It unlocks speaker labels, Word / PDF / subtitle / spreadsheet export, Q&A, summaries, mind maps and professional notes. Recording and transcription are always free.
I changed phones. Do I keep the purchase?
Yes. Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple ID and tap Settings → Restore Purchase in the App.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by the App Store. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Q&A and summaries say they’re unavailable.
These features run on-device AI. They need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence with it turned on in iPhone Settings, or, on 8 GB iPhones without Apple Intelligence, the on-device model downloaded in the App’s settings (about 2.7 GB; Wi-Fi recommended). The purchase screen tells you whether your phone can use them.
Privacy
Are recordings uploaded?
No. There’s no account and no server; recordings and text stay on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.
Can I lock the App?
Yes. Turn on Settings → Face ID Lock. The App asks to unlock after you’ve been away for more than a minute, and titles are hidden on the Lock Screen, widgets and notifications.
